About Terrence Fiala

Hi! My name is Terrence Fiala and I'm running in House District 6 for Missouri State Representative. I was born and raised in Marceline, MO, graduating from Marceline R-V High School. I attended Moberly Area Community College in Moberly, MO and later attending Columbia College in Columbia, MO.

My grandfather, Archie West worked for the City of Marceline for several years. It was from my grandfather that I learned the value of public service and giving back to others. I learned to strive to be a good human and look to something bigger than yourself. My campaign's motto is a simple one, "be better". My wish is that in these polarized and trying times that we all strive to "be better".

In 2010, I was appointed as Marceline Ward 4 Committeeman for the Linn County Democrats Central Committee. In addition, I was a member of the Linn County Democratic Club and an active volunteer in state representative races in the district. Later, I accepted a Deputy Assessor position with the Linn County Assessor's Office.

In 2016, I left the assessor's office to take a position with Chris Koster's Gubernatorial Campaign. During this period in my life I realized even though it may seem we have so many difference and so much division, when you get right down to it we all want the same things. We want our children to go to a good school and be safe. We want our loved ones to have access quality healthcare. We want to be able to fall asleep at without worrying if you're going to have to chose between paying rent or paying for a lifesaving prescription.

I took the lessons I learned and moved back home to Marceline in 2020. I came home to be of service to my community and I ran for the Missouri House of Representatives. Although I was unsuccessful, after the election I took a position with the Linn County Prosecutor's Office where I had the honor of working with some of the finest people I've ever known, led by former Linn County Prosecuting Attorney Shiante McMahon who was always a guiding light of truth and integrity. The employees in this office were true heroes, fighting everyday to give a voice to those who didn't have one.

Citizens of the 7th District, we may not always agree, but I can promise you I will always lead with honesty, integrity, humility, empathy, and fortitude.
