Labor Day is more than the unofficial end of summer. It is a reminder that so much of what working people have today was fought for by workers who stood together and demanded better.
The 40-hour workweek. Overtime. Safer workplaces. Fair wages. Weekends. The right to organize and have a voice on the job.
None of those things were gifts. They were earned.
That is why I am incredibly proud to have the support of the Missouri AFL CIO and LiUNA in this campaign.
I grew up in a union family. My dad was a union carpenter, and my brother has spent decades as a union millwright. I know what a good union job can mean to a family. It means stability. It means dignity. It means being able to build a life, raise a family, and retire after years of hard work.
As your State Representative, I will stand with Missouri workers, protect the right to organize, support prevailing wage, oppose Right to Work, and fight for an economy where a full day’s work is enough to build a good life.
This Labor Day, thank you to the men and women who build our roads, schools, hospitals, homes, businesses, and communities.
Missouri works because you do.
Happy Labor Day
