I was born and raised in Missouri and have lived here most of my life. For the last 19 years, my wife and I have lived here in St. Charles County. I am sad to say that what is happening in Jefferson City and in our state is not only embarrassing but destructive to our system of education, our economy, our healthcare, and our environment. I do not recognize Missouri values that I once knew in most of the legislation being proposed and passed in our state.
I am running to be your representative in House District 107 because it is time to put people first!
ECONOMY - We do not need another round of tax breaks to entice businesses to relocate to Missouri. Let's first agree that everyone needs to pay their fair share and even if they eliminate income taxes and personal property taxes, higher sales taxes being proposed by Jefferson City will only increase the cost of living for most Missouri residents.
EDUCATION - We need public schools that are fully funded, including institutions of higher learning. Better schools and universities that result in an educated populace THAT is what brings businesses to our state. Our children/grandchildren deserve opportunities in all fields of education in order to obtain employment that will pay a living wage and beyond.
EQUITY/HEALTH CARE - All Missourians are entitled to healthcare no matter their gender or health issues. Patients, with the guidance of their doctors, not politicians, should determine their healthcare treatments, including access to abortions.
ENVIRONMENT - Whether we like it or not, data centers are going to be a fact of life, and we need a regulated process ensuring that utilities are not overwhelmed, and water and land resources are protected.
As your representative, I will listen to you and represent your ideals and values. An investment in people and community is an investment in our future.
That is why I want to represent you and your family in Jefferson City and humbly ask for your vote.
